Presentation: How to do better in Google: Optimizing your WordPress Site & Web Content for Search

In these back-to-back sessions, you’ll learn the steps to take to help your site do better in search results. Session One will be an overview of SEO tactics to optimize WordPress for search.  In Session Two, we’ll focus on optimizing your content, including keyword research, web copy and images.

What do you want folks to learn from your session?

That even though on-page SEO is no longer sexy, it still works.

What attracted you to WordPress in the first place?

There are many reasons to love WordPress. For a non-techie like me, it’s so user-friendly. It’s open source – I love the spirit of sharing and support within the community. And it’s SEO friendly.

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Toronto?

Meeting other WordPress enthusiasts.

Why did you decide to speak at WordCamp Toronto?

Speaking at WordCamp Toronto is an opportunity to share with my community – a community with whom I’ve learned so much.

What is your favourite theme or plugin, and why?

Favourite plugin has to be WordPress SEO plugin by Yoast. If WordPress gets you 85% there with SEO – Yoast gets you the rest of the way.
